Description

Laureth-9, also known as Polyethylene Glycol (9) Lauryl Ether, is a versatile synthetic ingredient commonly used in skincare and haircare formulations. This non-ionic surfactant and emulsifier is derived from lauryl alcohol and ethylene oxide, resulting in a compound with both hydrophilic and lipophilic properties. Laureth-9's primary function is to reduce surface tension between oil and water, enabling the creation of stable emulsions and facilitating the solubilization of oils and fragrances in aqueous solutions.

In skincare products, Laureth-9 acts as an effective cleansing agent and emollient, helping to remove dirt and excess oils while leaving the skin feeling smooth.
