Description

Laureth-10 is a versatile surfactant and emulsifier widely used in skincare and haircare formulations. This synthetic compound is derived from lauryl alcohol ethoxylated with an average of 10 moles of ethylene oxide. Its chemical structure consists of a hydrophobic lauryl chain and a hydrophilic polyethylene glycol chain, giving it excellent solubilizing properties.

In skincare products, Laureth-10 functions as an effective cleansing agent, helping to remove dirt, oil, and impurities from the skin. It also acts as an emulsifier, facilitating the mixing of oil and water-based ingredients in creams and lotions. This ingredient is particularly useful in creating stable foam in cleansers and body washes.

For haircare applications, Laureth-10 aids in the even distribution of conditioning agents throughout hair products. It helps to reduce surface tension, allowing for better penetration of active ingredients into the hair shaft. Additionally, it contributes to the smooth texture and enhanced spreadability of hair products.
