LANETH-75

Description

Laneth-75 is a synthetic emulsifier and surfactant commonly used in cosmetic and personal care formulations. This non-ionic compound is derived from lanolin, a natural wax obtained from sheep's wool, which undergoes ethoxylation to produce the final ingredient. Laneth-75 functions primarily as an emulsifying agent, helping to stabilize oil-in-water emulsions and create smooth, uniform textures in creams, lotions, and other skincare products.

The "75" in Laneth-75 refers to the average number of ethylene oxide units added during the ethoxylation process, which influences its hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) and overall performance. This ingredient exhibits excellent compatibility with a wide range of cosmetic ingredients and is particularly effective in formulations containing high levels of oils or waxes.

Laneth-75 offers several benefits in skincare formulations, including improved product stability, enhanced spreadability, and a luxurious skin feel. It also aids in the solubilization of fragrances and other oil-soluble ingredients. While generally considered safe for use in cosmetics, some individuals with lanolin sensitivities may experience reactions to products containing Laneth-75. As with any skincare ingredient, patch testing is recommended for those with sensitive skin or known allergies.
