LAC

Description

Lactic Acid (LAC) is an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) naturally found in milk and various foods. In skincare, it's a versatile ingredient known for its exfoliating and hydrating properties. LAC works by breaking down the bonds between dead skin cells, promoting cell turnover and revealing smoother, more radiant skin underneath.

With a larger molecular size compared to other AHAs like glycolic acid, LAC penetrates the skin more slowly, making it gentler and suitable for sensitive skin types. It has a pH-adjusting effect, helping to maintain the skin's optimal acid mantle. LAC also acts as a humectant, attracting moisture to the skin and improving hydration levels.

Regular use of LAC can help improve skin texture, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and even out skin tone. It's effective in treating hyperpigmentation, sun damage, and mild acne. LAC also stimulates collagen production, contributing to firmer, more youthful-looking skin over time.

Typically used in concentrations between 5-10% in skincare formulations, LAC can be found in various products including cleansers, toners, serums, and moisturizers.
