KOJIC DIPALMITATE
Description
Kojic Dipalmitate is a stable, oil-soluble derivative of kojic acid, renowned for its skin-brightening and antioxidant properties. This ester form enhances penetration into the skin, making it more effective than its parent compound. As a tyrosinase inhibitor, Kojic Dipalmitate works by suppressing melanin production, leading to a more even skin tone and reduction of hyperpigmentation.
The ingredient's molecular structure allows for gradual release of kojic acid upon contact with skin enzymes, providing sustained benefits with reduced risk of irritation. This controlled delivery system makes it suitable for sensitive skin types. Kojic Dipalmitate also exhibits potent antioxidant activity, neutralizing free radicals and protecting skin cells from oxidative stress.
In formulations, Kojic Dipalmitate is typically used at concentrations between 0.1% to 2%. It synergizes well with other brightening agents like niacinamide and vitamin C, enhancing overall efficacy. The ingredient is stable in a wide pH range and compatible with most cosmetic bases. Its oil-soluble nature makes it particularly useful in anhydrous formulations and emulsions. Regular use of products containing Kojic Dipalmitate can result in visible improvement of skin tone and reduction of dark spots within 4-8 weeks.
