Isobutylparaben is a synthetic preservative commonly used in cosmetics, personal care products, and pharmaceuticals. This parabens derivative is prized for its broad-spectrum antimicrobial properties, effectively inhibiting the growth of bacteria and fungi. Its chemical structure consists of a para-hydroxybenzoic acid esterified with isobutyl alcohol, resulting in a stable compound with a molecular formula of C11H14O3.

In skincare formulations, isobutylparaben typically appears in concentrations ranging from 0.01% to 0.3%.
