Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate
Description
Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate (HPR) is an advanced, next-generation retinoid that offers significant skin benefits with reduced irritation compared to traditional retinol. This ester form of retinoic acid is also known as granactive retinoid or retinoic acid ester. HPR binds directly to retinoid receptors in the skin, bypassing the conversion process required by other retinoids, which leads to faster and more efficient results.
HPR promotes collagen production, accelerates cell turnover, and improves skin texture and tone. It effectively addresses multiple skin concerns, including fine lines, wrinkles, uneven pigmentation, and acne. Unlike other retinoids, HPR exhibits a lower incidence of side effects such as redness, dryness, and peeling, making it suitable for sensitive skin types.
This ingredient is stable in formulations and less susceptible to oxidation than retinol. It can be used in various skincare products, including serums, creams, and lotions. HPR works synergistically with other active ingredients like niacinamide and hyaluronic acid. For optimal results, it is recommended to introduce HPR gradually into a skincare routine, starting with lower concentrations and increasing frequency of use over time.
