Common Name(s): Hydroxydecyl ubiquinoyl dipalmitoyl glycerate,hydroxydecyl ubiquinoyl dipalmitoyl glycerate,lipophilic coq10 ester,mitochondrial anti-aging active
CAS Number: N/a
DESCRIPTION
What It Does: Delivers coq10 deep into the dermis through the dipalmitoyl glycerate lipophilic carrier — restoring the electron transport chain's coq10 pool for improved atp synthesis and providing the only in-membrane radical scavenging active that cannot be replicated by vitamin c or e.
Why It's Used: Coq10 is the only endogenous antioxidant operating within the inner mitochondrial membrane — vitamin c and e are ineffective there. the lipophilic ester provides coq10 delivery to the precise intracellular location where the anti-aging energy and antioxidant benefit is expressed.
How It Works: Coq10 (ubiquinone/ubiquinol redox cycle): ubiquinol (reduced) → electron donation to complex iii → ubiquinone (oxidised) → re-reduction by complex i. during electron donation, ubiquinol simultaneously scavenges lipid peroxyl radicals in the inner mitochondrial membrane. declining coq10 with age: levels drop 70% from age 20 to 80 → electron transport chain inefficiency → reduced atp → compromised skin cell renewal.

SAFETY & COMPATIBILITY
Safety Profile: Excellent safety profile. ewg score: 1.
Works Well With: Vitamin c,vitamin e,ferulic acid, spf, other antioxidants
Avoid Combining With: No significant incompatibilities
SCIENTIFIC NOTE
Coq10 mitochondria-targeted delivery: standard coq10 has limited mitochondrial access from rapid scavenging in sc lipids; the dipalmitoyl glycerate ester provides superior dermal penetration depth compared to free coq10, increasing the proportion reaching the target mitochondrial membrane.
