HYDROGENATED EGG OIL
Description
Hydrogenated egg oil is a unique ingredient in skincare formulations derived from egg yolks through a process of hydrogenation. This transformation alters the oil's chemical structure, enhancing its stability and shelf life while retaining many beneficial properties of the original egg lipids.
Rich in fatty acids, particularly oleic and palmitic acids, hydrogenated egg oil offers excellent emollient properties, helping to soften and smooth the skin. It forms a protective barrier on the skin's surface, reducing transepidermal water loss and improving hydration. The oil also contains natural phospholipids, which can help reinforce the skin's lipid barrier.
Vitamin content, including A, D, and E, contributes to its antioxidant properties, potentially aiding in protecting the skin from environmental stressors. Its non-comedogenic nature makes it suitable for various skin types, including acne-prone skin.
In formulations, hydrogenated egg oil serves as a thickening agent and texture enhancer, contributing to the luxurious feel of creams and lotions. Its compatibility with other ingredients makes it versatile in skincare products, from moisturizers to serums and balms.
