Description

Homosalate is a widely used organic compound in sunscreen formulations, functioning as an effective UV filter. This oil-soluble substance primarily absorbs UVB rays, which are responsible for sunburn and play a significant role in photoaging and skin cancer development. Chemically known as 3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexyl salicylate, homosalate belongs to the salicylate family and has been approved by regulatory bodies worldwide for use in sun protection products.
