hippophae rhamnoides seabuckthorn oil

Description

Hippophae rhamnoides, commonly known as sea buckthorn, produces a nutrient-rich oil with exceptional skincare properties. This golden-orange oil is extracted from the fruit and seeds of the sea buckthorn plant, native to Europe and Asia. Rich in vitamins A, C, and E, as well as essential fatty acids, including the rare omega-7, sea buckthorn oil offers potent antioxidant and regenerative benefits for the skin.

The oil's high content of carotenoids, particularly beta-carotene, provides natural UV protection and helps combat free radical damage. Its omega fatty acid profile, including linoleic, alpha-linolenic, and palmitoleic acids, supports skin barrier function and promotes hydration. Sea buckthorn oil has been shown to accelerate wound healing, reduce inflammation, and improve skin elasticity.

In skincare formulations, sea buckthorn oil is valued for its ability to nourish dry, damaged skin and address various skin concerns, including eczema, rosacea, and hyperpigmentation. Its emollient properties make it an excellent ingredient for moisturizers, serums, and facial oils. While beneficial for most skin types, its richness may require careful formulation for acne-prone skin.
