Description

Hexahydro-methanoindene, also known as Galaxolide, is a synthetic musk compound widely used in the fragrance industry and personal care products, including skincare formulations. This polycyclic musk is prized for its clean, sweet, and long-lasting woody-floral scent profile. In skincare applications, hexahydro-methanoindene serves primarily as a fixative and fragrance enhancer, helping to stabilize and prolong the overall scent of a product.

The compound's molecular structure allows it to interact effectively with other fragrance components, enhancing their performance and longevity on the skin. Its low molecular weight contributes to its ability to penetrate the stratum corneum, the outermost layer of the skin, ensuring a lasting fragrance effect.
