Description

Glucose oxidase is an enzyme widely utilized in skincare formulations for its unique ability to generate hydrogen peroxide through the oxidation of glucose. This process, known as glucose oxidation, creates a controlled release of hydrogen peroxide, which has notable antimicrobial and preservative properties. The enzyme's activity is particularly effective in oxygen-rich environments, making it suitable for various topical applications.

In skincare products, glucose oxidase serves multiple functions. It acts as a natural preservative, helping to extend product shelf life without the need for synthetic additives. The enzyme's ability to produce hydrogen peroxide in situ also contributes to mild antibacterial effects, potentially assisting in managing acne-prone skin.
