ERICERUS PELA CERA

Description

Ericerus Pela Cera, also known as white wax or Chinese wax, is a natural ingredient derived from the waxy secretions of the Chinese white wax scale insect (Ericerus pela). This unique substance has been used in traditional Chinese medicine and cosmetics for centuries. In modern skincare and haircare formulations, Ericerus Pela Cera serves as an effective emollient and thickening agent.

The wax consists primarily of long-chain aliphatic esters, alcohols, and acids, which contribute to its excellent moisturizing and protective properties. It forms a thin, breathable film on the skin and hair, helping to lock in moisture and prevent transepidermal water loss. This makes it particularly beneficial for dry, sensitive, or mature skin types.

In haircare products, Ericerus Pela Cera can improve manageability, add shine, and provide a light hold without weighing down the hair. Its low melting point allows for easy incorporation into various formulations, including creams, lotions, and balms. The ingredient is also valued for its ability to stabilize emulsions and enhance the texture of products.

While generally considered safe for topical use, it's important to note that some individuals may be sensitive to insect-derived ingredients.
