EGG
Description
Egg, a versatile and nutrient-rich ingredient, has been utilized in skincare and haircare formulations for centuries. Composed primarily of proteins, lipids, and water, eggs offer a multitude of benefits for both skin and hair health. The egg white, or albumen, contains proteins like ovalbumin and lysozyme, which contribute to tightening and firming effects on the skin. These proteins also form a protective film on hair strands, enhancing shine and reducing breakage.
The egg yolk, rich in vitamins A, D, and E, as well as fatty acids, provides nourishing and moisturizing properties. Lecithin, a key component of egg yolks, acts as an emollient and helps improve the texture of both skin and hair. Biotin, another essential nutrient found in eggs, supports healthy hair growth and skin cell regeneration.
In skincare formulations, egg-derived ingredients can help improve skin elasticity, minimize the appearance of pores, and promote a more youthful complexion. For haircare, egg-based products can strengthen hair follicles, improve hair texture, and add luster. However, it's important to note that egg allergies may limit the use of this ingredient for some individuals.
