DISPERSE VIOLET 15

Description

Disperse Violet 15, also known as CI 60725, is a synthetic colorant widely used in the cosmetic and personal care industry, particularly in haircare products. This vibrant violet dye belongs to the anthraquinone family of colorants and is prized for its ability to impart a cool, purple tone to various formulations. It is especially effective in neutralizing unwanted yellow or brassy tones in blonde, gray, or silver hair.

The colorant exhibits excellent stability across a wide pH range and demonstrates good resistance to light and heat, making it suitable for leave-in and rinse-off hair products. Disperse Violet 15 is typically incorporated into shampoos, conditioners, hair masks, and toning treatments at concentrations ranging from 0.001% to 0.1%, depending on the desired intensity of color correction.

While generally considered safe for use in cosmetics, it is important to note that Disperse Violet 15 may cause skin irritation or allergic reactions in some individuals. As with any colorant, patch testing is recommended before widespread use. Formulators should also be aware of regulatory limitations on its use in different regions and ensure compliance with local cosmetic regulations.
