DISODIUM SULFOACETATE

Description

Disodium sulfoacetate is a versatile surfactant and cleansing agent commonly used in skincare and haircare formulations. This mild, anionic compound is derived from sulfoacetic acid and sodium salts, making it an effective yet gentle option for various personal care products. Its primary function is to reduce surface tension between water and oils, allowing for efficient removal of dirt, excess sebum, and other impurities from the skin and hair.

In skincare, disodium sulfoacetate is prized for its low irritation potential, making it suitable for sensitive skin types. It produces a rich, creamy lather without stripping the skin's natural oils, helping to maintain the skin barrier integrity. This ingredient is often found in facial cleansers, body washes, and micellar waters.

For haircare applications, disodium sulfoacetate offers excellent cleansing properties while being less harsh than traditional sulfates. It effectively removes buildup from hair and scalp without causing excessive dryness or irritation. This makes it an ideal component in shampoos for color-treated or chemically processed hair, as well as in scalp care products.
