DIHYDROXYINDOLINE HBR

Description

Dihydroxyindoline HBr, also known as DHI hydrobromide, is a potent melanin precursor used in advanced hair coloring formulations. This synthetic compound closely mimics the natural melanin production process in hair follicles, offering a more natural and long-lasting color result compared to traditional dyes. DHI HBr works by penetrating the hair shaft and polymerizing to form eumelanin, the pigment responsible for brown and black hair colors.

This ingredient is particularly effective in gray hair coverage and can be used in both permanent and semi-permanent hair color products. Its small molecular size allows for efficient penetration, resulting in more uniform color distribution throughout the hair shaft. DHI HBr is often combined with other coloring agents to achieve a wide range of natural-looking shades.

When used in proper concentrations, Dihydroxyindoline HBr demonstrates good stability and color fastness, resisting fading from washing and environmental factors. However, it requires careful formulation to ensure optimal pH levels for activation and polymerization. While generally well-tolerated, patch testing is recommended to assess individual sensitivity before widespread use.
