DEHYDROLATANOPROST

Description

Dehydrolatanoprost is a novel synthetic prostaglandin analog developed for topical application in haircare formulations. This innovative compound is designed to stimulate hair growth and combat hair loss by targeting the hair follicle's growth cycle. Structurally similar to latanoprost, a well-known glaucoma medication, dehydrolatanoprost has been modified to enhance its stability and efficacy for scalp application.

The ingredient works by prolonging the anagen phase of the hair growth cycle and promoting the transition of telogen follicles to anagen. It also increases the density and diameter of hair shafts, resulting in visibly thicker and fuller hair. Clinical studies have shown promising results, with significant improvements in hair density observed after 16 weeks of consistent use.

Dehydrolatanoprost is typically formulated in low concentrations (0.1% to 0.5%) in leave-on products such as serums or lotions. It is well-tolerated by most users, with minimal side effects reported. However, as with all prostaglandin analogs, it may cause temporary skin irritation or changes in iris pigmentation in rare cases. This ingredient is particularly beneficial for individuals experiencing androgenetic alopecia or other forms of progressive hair thinning.
