DECETH-4

Description

Deceth-4 is a versatile synthetic emollient and emulsifier commonly used in various skincare and haircare formulations. This ethoxylated fatty alcohol is derived from decanol, a long-chain alcohol, and undergoes a process of ethoxylation to produce Deceth-4. Its molecular structure consists of a hydrophobic (water-repelling) tail and a hydrophilic (water-loving) head, making it an effective surfactant and solubilizer.

In skincare products, Deceth-4 functions as a mild cleansing agent, helping to remove dirt, oil, and impurities from the skin without causing excessive dryness. It also acts as an emulsifier, facilitating the stable mixing of oil and water-based ingredients in creams and lotions. In haircare formulations, Deceth-4 serves as a conditioning agent, improving the manageability and smoothness of hair.

This ingredient exhibits low skin irritation potential and is generally well-tolerated by most skin types. Deceth-4 is particularly useful in creating lightweight, non-greasy formulations, making it suitable for a wide range of products, including cleansers, moisturizers, and hair conditioners. Its ability to enhance the spreadability of products contributes to improved texture and user experience.
