Description

Cyclomethicone is a versatile silicone-based compound widely used in skincare and cosmetic formulations. This clear, odorless fluid is composed of cyclic siloxanes, most commonly octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (D4) and decamethylcyclopentasiloxane (D5). Its unique molecular structure allows it to evaporate quickly from the skin without leaving a residue, making it an excellent carrier for other active ingredients.

In skincare products, cyclomethicone functions as an emollient and lubricant, providing a silky, smooth feel to the skin without greasiness. It enhances spreadability and improves the texture of formulations, contributing to a more pleasant user experience.
