COCETH-3

Description

Coceth-3, also known as PEG-3 Cocamide, is a versatile emulsifier and surfactant widely used in skincare and haircare formulations. This ethoxylated fatty acid derivative is derived from coconut oil and possesses both hydrophilic and lipophilic properties, making it an effective ingredient for various personal care products.

In skincare formulations, Coceth-3 functions as a mild cleansing agent and emulsifier, helping to blend oil and water-based ingredients seamlessly. It aids in the formation of stable emulsions, improving the texture and consistency of creams, lotions, and cleansers. The ingredient also acts as a thickening agent, enhancing the viscosity of products without compromising their spreadability.

For haircare applications, Coceth-3 serves as a conditioning agent and foam booster in shampoos and conditioners. It helps to reduce static electricity and improve the overall manageability of hair. Additionally, its emulsifying properties assist in the even distribution of other active ingredients throughout the product.

While Coceth-3 is generally well-tolerated, it may cause mild irritation in individuals with sensitive skin. As with any cosmetic ingredient, patch testing is recommended before widespread use.
