CITRUS MADURENSIS FRUIT JUICE
Description
Citrus madurensis fruit juice, derived from the calamansi fruit, is a potent skincare ingredient known for its brightening and antioxidant properties. This small citrus fruit, native to Southeast Asia, contains a high concentration of vitamin C, which plays a crucial role in collagen synthesis and skin protection against free radical damage.
The juice is rich in alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), particularly citric acid, which gently exfoliates the skin, promoting cell turnover and improving skin texture. Its natural astringent properties help tighten pores and regulate sebum production, making it beneficial for oily and acne-prone skin types.
Citrus madurensis fruit juice also contains flavonoids and limonoids, which contribute to its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects. These compounds can help soothe irritated skin and combat acne-causing bacteria. The juice's high vitamin C content aids in reducing hyperpigmentation and evening out skin tone.
When formulated in skincare products, this ingredient can enhance overall skin radiance, improve skin clarity, and provide a natural source of hydration. However, due to its potency, it should be used in appropriate concentrations and may not be suitable for extremely sensitive skin.
