Description

Chlorosalicylic acid is a potent derivative of salicylic acid, featuring an additional chlorine atom in its molecular structure. This modification enhances its lipophilicity, allowing for improved penetration into the skin and sebaceous glands. As a beta-hydroxy acid (BHA), chlorosalicylic acid exhibits superior keratolytic and comedolytic properties compared to its parent compound.

The ingredient is particularly effective in treating acne-prone and oily skin types due to its ability to penetrate pores and dissolve excess sebum. It also possesses mild antibacterial properties, which can help reduce acne-causing bacteria.
