CHALK

Description

Chalk, a naturally occurring calcium carbonate compound, has found its way into skincare formulations due to its unique properties. This finely ground white mineral boasts excellent oil-absorbing capabilities, making it a valuable ingredient in products designed for oily and acne-prone skin. Chalk's mild abrasive nature allows it to function as a gentle exfoliant, helping to remove dead skin cells and unclog pores without causing excessive irritation.

In skincare formulations, chalk is often utilized in face masks, powders, and mattifying products. Its ability to control excess sebum production helps create a matte finish on the skin, reducing shine and improving the longevity of makeup application. Additionally, chalk can act as a natural sunscreen, offering mild UV protection when incorporated into certain products.

While generally considered safe for topical use, some individuals may experience dryness or irritation, particularly those with sensitive or dry skin types. It's important to note that chalk should not be used as a primary source of sun protection and should always be combined with appropriate broad-spectrum sunscreens for adequate UV defense.
