CETYLARACHIDOL

Description

Cetylarachidol is a multifunctional emollient and conditioning agent derived from natural sources, primarily arachidyl alcohol and cetyl alcohol. This waxy, solid substance is widely used in skincare and cosmetic formulations due to its excellent moisturizing and texture-enhancing properties. With a melting point around 65-70°C, cetylarachidol provides a smooth, non-greasy feel to products while forming a protective barrier on the skin's surface.

The ingredient's molecular structure allows it to effectively trap moisture within the skin, promoting hydration and improving overall skin texture. Cetylarachidol is particularly beneficial for dry, sensitive, or mature skin types, as it helps to reduce transepidermal water loss and strengthen the skin barrier function. In formulations, it acts as a stabilizer and thickener, contributing to the product's consistency and shelf life.

Cetylarachidol is generally well-tolerated and considered safe for use in various concentrations. It is compatible with a wide range of other skincare ingredients, making it a versatile choice for formulators. Common applications include moisturizers, lotions, creams, and hair care products, where it imparts a luxurious feel and enhances product performance.
