CETEARETH-28

Description

Ceteareth-28 is a versatile emulsifying and solubilizing agent widely used in cosmetic and personal care formulations. This synthetic ingredient is derived from the ethoxylation of cetearyl alcohol, a blend of cetyl and stearyl alcohols. With an average of 28 ethylene oxide units per molecule, Ceteareth-28 exhibits excellent water solubility and compatibility with a broad range of ingredients.

In skincare products, Ceteareth-28 functions primarily as an emulsifier, helping to create stable oil-in-water emulsions. It effectively combines oil-soluble and water-soluble components, resulting in smooth, uniform formulations. This ingredient also acts as a surfactant, reducing surface tension between different phases in a product.

Ceteareth-28 is particularly useful in creating light, non-greasy textures, making it suitable for various skin types, including oily and combination skin. It enhances the spreadability of formulations and can improve the skin feel of products. Additionally, Ceteareth-28 may assist in the delivery of active ingredients by improving their solubility and dispersion within the formulation.

While generally well-tolerated, individuals with sensitive skin should perform patch tests before using products containing this ingredient.
