Description

Ceteareth-10 is a versatile emulsifier and surfactant widely used in skincare and cosmetic formulations. This synthetic ingredient is derived from the ethoxylation of cetearyl alcohol, a mixture of cetyl and stearyl alcohols. With an HLB (Hydrophilic-Lipophilic Balance) value of approximately 12.9, Ceteareth-10 effectively bridges the gap between oil and water-based components in products.

In skincare formulations, Ceteareth-10 serves multiple functions. It acts as an emulsifier, helping to create stable emulsions by reducing surface tension between oil and water phases. This property ensures a smooth, consistent texture in creams and lotions. Additionally, it functions as a mild surfactant, aiding in the cleansing process without excessive drying of the skin.
