Description

Ceramide EOS, also known as Ceramide 1, is a crucial component of the skin's natural barrier function. This long-chain ceramide plays a vital role in maintaining skin hydration, preventing moisture loss, and protecting against environmental stressors. Ceramide EOS is composed of a sphingosine base linked to a very long-chain fatty acid, typically 30 to 32 carbon atoms in length.

In skincare formulations, Ceramide EOS is prized for its ability to improve skin barrier function, increase moisture retention, and enhance overall skin health. It works synergistically with other lipids in the stratum corneum to form a protective layer that locks in hydration and defends against external aggressors. Studies have shown that Ceramide EOS can help reduce transepidermal water loss, improve skin elasticity, and alleviate symptoms associated with dry, sensitive, or compromised skin.
