Description

Ceramide 1 A, also known as Ceramide EOP, is a crucial lipid molecule naturally present in the skin's stratum corneum. This long-chain ceramide plays a vital role in maintaining the skin barrier function and regulating moisture retention. Structurally, it consists of a sphingosine base linked to a very long-chain fatty acid, typically 30 to 32 carbon atoms in length.

In skincare formulations, Ceramide 1 A is utilized to replenish and strengthen the skin's protective barrier, enhancing its ability to retain moisture and resist environmental stressors. It is particularly beneficial for dry, sensitive, or compromised skin conditions, such as eczema or psoriasis. Ceramide 1 A works synergistically with other lipids, including cholesterol and fatty acids, to form lamellar structures that mimic the skin's natural lipid composition.

When incorporated into skincare products, Ceramide 1 A can improve skin hydration, reduce transepidermal water loss, and enhance overall skin texture and appearance.
