CAPRYLETH-4

Description

Capryleth-4 is a versatile synthetic emollient and emulsifier commonly used in skincare and cosmetic formulations. This ethoxylated fatty alcohol is derived from caprylic acid, a naturally occurring saturated fatty acid found in coconut and palm kernel oils. With its low molecular weight and mild nature, Capryleth-4 offers excellent spreadability and a lightweight feel on the skin.

As an emollient, Capryleth-4 helps to soften and smooth the skin, providing a non-greasy moisturizing effect. Its emulsifying properties allow it to effectively blend oil and water-based ingredients, creating stable formulations with improved texture and consistency. This ingredient is particularly useful in leave-on skincare products such as lotions, creams, and serums.

Capryleth-4 also functions as a surfactant, helping to cleanse the skin gently by reducing surface tension and facilitating the removal of dirt and oil. Its low irritation potential makes it suitable for use in products designed for sensitive skin. Additionally, Capryleth-4 can enhance the penetration of other active ingredients, potentially improving the overall efficacy of skincare formulations.
