C12-15 PARETH-12

Description

C12-15 Pareth-12 is a versatile synthetic emollient and emulsifier widely used in skincare and cosmetic formulations. This ethoxylated fatty alcohol is derived from a blend of C12 and C15 alcohols, combined with approximately 12 moles of ethylene oxide. Its primary function is to enhance the texture and spreadability of products while providing mild moisturizing properties.

As an emulsifier, C12-15 Pareth-12 helps stabilize oil-in-water emulsions, facilitating the uniform distribution of active ingredients throughout the formulation. It also acts as a surfactant, aiding in the removal of dirt and oil from the skin's surface. The ingredient's low molecular weight allows for easy absorption, making it an effective carrier for other beneficial compounds.

C12-15 Pareth-12 is known for its ability to improve the overall feel of skincare products, imparting a smooth, non-greasy finish. It is particularly useful in lightweight lotions, creams, and serums, where a silky texture is desired. While generally well-tolerated, it may cause mild irritation in individuals with sensitive skin. As with all cosmetic ingredients, patch testing is recommended before widespread use.
