Butyrospermum Parkii Butter

Description

Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, commonly known as Shea Butter, is a natural fat extracted from the nuts of the African Shea tree (Vitellaria paradoxa). This rich, creamy substance has been used for centuries in skincare and cosmetic applications due to its exceptional moisturizing and healing properties.

Composed primarily of triglycerides with a high concentration of stearic and oleic acids, Shea Butter also contains valuable phytosterols, vitamins A and E, and allantoin. Its unique composition allows it to penetrate deeply into the skin, providing intense hydration and nourishment. The high content of fatty acids helps to restore the skin's natural barrier function, reducing transepidermal water loss and improving overall skin elasticity.

Shea Butter exhibits anti-inflammatory properties, making it beneficial for soothing irritated skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. Its natural UV protection (approximately SPF 6) offers mild defense against sun damage. Additionally, the presence of cinnamic acid esters in Shea Butter contributes to its potential anti-aging effects by stimulating collagen production. This versatile ingredient is suitable for various skin types and can be incorporated into formulations for face, body, and hair care products.
