BRASSICA GLYCERIDES

Description

Brassica Glycerides are a group of plant-derived emollients and skin conditioning agents obtained from the seeds of various Brassica species, including rapeseed and canola. These glycerides are composed of a mixture of mono-, di-, and triglycerides, which are esters of glycerol and fatty acids found naturally in the plant oils.

The primary function of Brassica Glycerides in skincare formulations is to provide moisturizing and softening properties to the skin. They create a protective barrier on the skin's surface, helping to reduce transepidermal water loss and maintain hydration. This ingredient is particularly beneficial for dry, sensitive, or mature skin types.

Brassica Glycerides also possess antioxidant properties due to the presence of vitamin E and other naturally occurring compounds in the oil. These antioxidants help protect the skin from free radical damage and environmental stressors. Additionally, the ingredient exhibits good spreadability and absorption, making it suitable for various cosmetic applications, including creams, lotions, and balms.

In formulations, Brassica Glycerides typically comprise 1-5% of the total product composition. They are compatible with most other cosmetic ingredients and can enhance the overall texture and feel of skincare products.
