Description

BHA, or Beta Hydroxy Acid, is a lipid-soluble exfoliant widely used in skincare formulations. Its primary variant, salicylic acid, is derived from willow bark and has been utilized for centuries in various forms. BHA's oil-soluble nature allows it to penetrate deep into pores, making it particularly effective for treating acne-prone and oily skin types.

The compound works by breaking down the bonds between dead skin cells, promoting exfoliation and unclogging pores. This process helps to reduce blackheads, whiteheads, and overall skin congestion. BHA also possesses anti-inflammatory properties, which can soothe redness and irritation associated with acne lesions.
