BASIC YELLOW 87

Description

Basic Yellow 87, also known as Arianor Straw Yellow, is a synthetic colorant widely used in haircare products, particularly in hair dyes and toners. This water-soluble cationic dye belongs to the azo dye family and is characterized by its vibrant yellow hue. It is especially effective in creating warm blonde and golden tones in hair coloring formulations.

The molecular structure of Basic Yellow 87 allows it to penetrate the hair shaft and bind to the keratin proteins, resulting in long-lasting color. Its cationic nature enhances its affinity for hair, leading to improved color uptake and retention. This dye is often combined with other colorants to achieve a wide range of blonde and light brown shades.

Basic Yellow 87 is approved for use in semi-permanent and temporary hair colorants in many countries, including those in the European Union. It is generally considered safe when used as directed in hair dye formulations. However, as with all hair dyes, patch testing is recommended to check for potential allergic reactions. This ingredient is not intended for use on eyelashes or eyebrows and should be avoided in these areas.
