Description

Basic Red 51, also known as D&C Red No. 51, is a synthetic colorant widely used in cosmetic and personal care formulations, particularly in haircare products. This water-soluble dye belongs to the xanthene class of compounds and exhibits a vibrant red hue. Its molecular structure allows for excellent color stability across a range of pH levels, making it suitable for various product types.

In haircare formulations, Basic Red 51 is primarily utilized in temporary and semi-permanent hair dyes, providing intense, vivid red tones. It is especially effective in creating bold, fashion-forward hair colors and enhancing warm undertones in brunette shades.
