Description

Basic Red 22, also known as CI 12245, is a synthetic colorant widely used in various cosmetic and personal care products, particularly in haircare formulations. This water-soluble dye imparts a vibrant red hue to hair dyes, shampoos, and conditioners. Its molecular structure allows for excellent color stability and uniform distribution throughout the hair shaft.

Basic Red 22 exhibits a high affinity for keratin, the primary protein in hair, enabling long-lasting color results. This attribute makes it particularly valuable in semi-permanent and temporary hair coloring products. The dye's cationic nature enhances its adherence to hair fibers, resulting in improved color retention even after multiple washes.
