Description

Basic Blue 3, also known as Victoria Blue BO, is a synthetic dye commonly used in haircare products, particularly in color-depositing shampoos and conditioners. This water-soluble cationic compound belongs to the triarylmethane class of dyes and is characterized by its intense blue hue. Basic Blue 3 is primarily employed to counteract unwanted yellow or brassy tones in blonde, gray, or white hair.

The molecule's cationic nature allows it to adhere effectively to hair fibers, providing temporary color enhancement without permanent alteration of the hair structure. Its color-correcting properties are particularly beneficial for maintaining cool tones in color-treated or naturally light hair.
