ARACHIDYL BEHENATE

Description

Arachidyl behenate is a synthetic wax ester derived from arachidyl alcohol and behenic acid. This white, solid substance is widely used in cosmetic and personal care products due to its excellent emollient and texturizing properties. As a long-chain fatty acid ester, it functions as a skin-conditioning agent and viscosity controller in various formulations.

The ingredient imparts a smooth, silky feel to skincare products while helping to stabilize emulsions and enhance the overall texture of creams and lotions. Arachidyl behenate forms a protective barrier on the skin's surface, reducing transepidermal water loss and improving moisture retention. Its non-greasy nature makes it particularly suitable for formulations designed for oily or acne-prone skin types.

In addition to its moisturizing benefits, arachidyl behenate exhibits good spreadability and aids in the even distribution of active ingredients throughout a product. It is compatible with a wide range of cosmetic ingredients and remains stable under various pH conditions. The ingredient is generally well-tolerated by most skin types and is considered safe for use in concentrations typically found in cosmetic formulations.
