AMP-ISOSTEAROYL GELATIN/KERATIN AMINO ACIDS/LYSINE HYDROXYPROPYLTRIMONIUM CHLORIDE

Description

AMP-Isostearoyl Gelatin/Keratin Amino Acids/Lysine Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride is a complex, multifunctional ingredient primarily used in hair care formulations. This compound combines the benefits of protein derivatives and quaternary ammonium compounds to provide multiple benefits for hair health and appearance.

The gelatin component, derived from collagen, forms a protective film on the hair shaft, enhancing moisture retention and improving overall hair texture. Keratin amino acids, essential building blocks of hair protein, penetrate the hair shaft to strengthen and repair damaged strands from within. Lysine, an essential amino acid, helps to promote hair growth and maintain scalp health.

The hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride portion of the compound acts as a cationic conditioning agent, reducing static electricity and improving hair manageability. This quaternary ammonium compound also enhances the ingredient's ability to adhere to the hair surface, prolonging its beneficial effects.

In formulations, this ingredient typically functions as a conditioning agent, film former, and hair-strengthening component. It is particularly effective in products designed for damaged, chemically treated, or heat-styled hair, offering a combination of surface protection and internal fortification.
