Description

Ammonium alum, also known as ammonium aluminum sulfate, is a versatile and widely used compound in skincare and cosmetic formulations. This crystalline salt is composed of ammonium, aluminum, sulfur, and oxygen atoms, forming a double sulfate of aluminum and ammonium. Its astringent and antimicrobial properties make it a valuable ingredient in various skincare applications.

In skincare products, ammonium alum functions primarily as an astringent, helping to tighten pores and reduce excess oil production. This property makes it particularly useful in formulations targeting oily or acne-prone skin.
