Description

Methenamine is a powerful antimicrobial compound widely used in dermatology and skincare formulations. This synthetic organic compound, also known as hexamethylenetetramine, functions as a formaldehyde-releasing preservative. When exposed to acidic conditions, such as those found on the skin's surface, methenamine breaks down to release formaldehyde, which effectively combats bacteria and fungi.
