MAGNESIUM ASCORBYL PHOSPHATE

Description

Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (MAP) is a stable, water-soluble derivative of Vitamin C widely used in skincare formulations. This potent antioxidant offers multiple benefits for skin health and appearance. MAP effectively penetrates the skin, where it is converted to ascorbic acid, the active form of Vitamin C.

MAP exhibits strong antioxidant properties, neutralizing free radicals and protecting skin cells from oxidative stress and environmental damage. It plays a crucial role in collagen synthesis, promoting skin firmness and elasticity. MAP also inhibits melanin production, making it effective for addressing hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone.

Unlike pure ascorbic acid, MAP is less irritating and more stable in formulations, maintaining its efficacy over time. It has a pH closer to that of skin, reducing the risk of irritation. MAP demonstrates hydrating properties and may help in regulating sebum production, benefiting both dry and oily skin types.

Typical concentrations in skincare products range from 1% to 10%. MAP can be combined with other antioxidants and active ingredients to enhance overall skin benefits. It is particularly effective in serums, moisturizers, and targeted treatments for brightening, anti-aging, and skin repair.
