HYALURONIC ACID

Description

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring glycosaminoglycan found in the human body, particularly in skin, connective tissues, and eyes. This powerful humectant has gained significant popularity in skincare due to its remarkable ability to retain moisture. HA can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water, making it an excellent hydrating agent for all skin types.

In skincare formulations, hyaluronic acid is available in various molecular weights, each offering different benefits. Low molecular weight HA penetrates deeper into the skin, while high molecular weight HA forms a protective barrier on the surface. This versatility allows for multi-level hydration and improved skin texture.

Regular use of hyaluronic acid in skincare routines can lead to increased skin hydration, reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and improved skin elasticity. It's particularly beneficial for dry, dehydrated, or mature skin types. HA is generally well-tolerated and can be combined with other active ingredients like vitamins C and retinol for enhanced results. Its non-comedogenic nature makes it suitable for acne-prone skin as well.
