Eriodictyol is a naturally occurring flavonoid found in various plants, particularly in yerba santa (Eriodictyon californicum) and citrus fruits. This potent antioxidant compound belongs to the flavanone subclass and has gained attention in skincare for its potential therapeutic benefits.

Structurally similar to hesperidin and naringenin, eriodictyol exhibits strong free radical scavenging properties, helping to neutralize oxidative stress and protect skin cells from environmental damage.
