Elastin

Description

Elastin is a crucial protein found naturally in the skin, responsible for maintaining its elasticity and resilience. This fibrous protein works in conjunction with collagen to provide structural support to the skin, allowing it to stretch and recoil without damage. As a key component of the extracellular matrix, elastin plays a vital role in preserving skin's youthful appearance and functionality.

In skincare formulations, elastin is often derived from marine or plant sources and is incorporated to support skin elasticity and firmness.
