DOCOSAHEXENOIC/DOCOSAPENTENOIC/OLEIC/PALMITIC TRIGLYCERIDE
Description
Docosahexenoic/Docosapentenoic/Oleic/Palmitic Triglyceride is a complex lipid compound derived from a combination of omega-3 fatty acids and common saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. This ingredient is primarily used in skincare formulations for its emollient and skin-conditioning properties. The presence of docosahexenoic acid (DHA) and docosapentaenoic acid (DPA) contributes to the ingredient's anti-inflammatory and barrier-strengthening capabilities. Oleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid, enhances skin penetration and provides moisturizing benefits. Palmitic acid, a saturated fatty acid, helps to stabilize the formulation and provides a smooth, silky texture.
This triglyceride blend is particularly beneficial for dry, sensitive, or mature skin types. It helps to reduce transepidermal water loss, improve skin hydration, and promote a healthier skin barrier function. The omega-3 fatty acids in the compound may also assist in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by supporting collagen production. When incorporated into skincare products, this ingredient can improve overall skin texture, increase suppleness, and enhance the skin's natural protective mechanisms against environmental stressors.
